If it comes at all. How would such an ideal coalition materialize? Who would lead? Who would follow?

Our salvation isn’t going to come from left, right or center; it won’t come from a part of the brain that even relates to that. It’s going to come from a coalition of conscience & decency & love, drawn from every category of race & religion & ethnicity & sex & socio-economics.

Gandhi said the leader of the Indian independence movement was “the small still voice within.” A leader doesn’t create such a movement; leaders emerge from such a movement. And they already are. A profound reaction to the dystopia of this moment is gestating in millions of hearts

Nature knows how to organize itself. A principle of Non-violence is that “self-purification precedes political action.” We prepare ourselves spiritually in order to have the greatest influence politically. That’s where the personal meets the political.
