Our salvation isn’t going to come from left, right or center; it won’t come from a part of the brain that even relates to that. It’s going to come from a coalition of conscience & decency & love, drawn from every category of race & religion & ethnicity & sex & socio-economics.

FDR was rich. Bobby Kennedy was rich. For that matter, Buddha started out rich. Someone’s suffering and ability to relate to the suffering of others is a more reliable indicator of their political values than how much money they have.

They bribed labor; it's not because they cared, it was because they were afraid of what would happen if they didnt do it. Stop lionizing imperialists.

FDR made a bargain to save capitalism. Bobby Kennedy never had a chance to make a change. Buddha threw off the chains of society and created a new one. Empathy is an integral part but change will happen when enough people say "enough". Maybe someone/group will lead them.

It’s not about rich becoming nice. The problem Marx highlighted is the forces controlling production and capital accumulation compelling the rich to cut down wages, invest in automation, destroy environment and control state and police. If you are ‘nice’ your business goes under

Fdr was forced into signing the new deal by a highly militant socialist and communist labour movement. It was him or revolution
