If your house was on fire would you take an incremental approach to putting it out?

Seems lots of people have incrementally refuted @marwilliamson post.

If their house was on fire they’d probably have a private fire-brigade on retainer. If my house was on fire, it would take an hour and a half for the fire dept to come. 🙃

Depends on the condition of the structure, kind of accelerant that started it, whether it contains anything that can blow, if it's been smoldering a while or has hidden pockets. Did it create a backdraft? Now, don't be daft. Humanity is not an inanimate object.

Nope, which is why I would gut the entire government without question.

Only if I were one of the super-rich who built a home high on a hill with a view to die for that never should have been zoned for building in the first place. Why? The government will pay to build it back better.

If you did the whole town would be ashes, if not more.

If my house was on fire....why would you set all of the other houses in the neighborhood, city, state, country and around the globe on fire just to put mine out?
