I’m not young, but if I were I would be very resentful of people who carelessly exploit the resources of this planet and won’t even be around long enough to suffer the consequences of their misdeeds.

Then you should know by now that the same propaganda has been going on for several decades. "Global Cooling" became "Global Warming". "Global Warming" became "Climate Change". "We only have X years!?!" has been claimed longer than I've been alive.

Offering a new perspective: Old is 106. It might take110 to make the Smuckers label. It is necessary to live longer because most didn't learn about the depression directly from family or of deferred gratification. When economies shrink to the sustainable, teaching will be needed.
