1/ The more I think about the failure to extend the eviction moratorium, the more I think there were powerful forces working against it. Too many people are saying “Hey it wasn’t us, “It wasn’t us, “It wasn’t us.”

2/ They didn’t *want* to extend the moratorium. And why? Because the very people most at risk of eviction are the people they want to go back to work at the low paying jobs that are available now.

3/ Lifting the moratorium is a way of saying “OK, you had your break, now get back to work.” Extending the moratorium would have given people more of a chance to consider other options, to be part of a collective challenge to the chronic reality of survival wages.

4/ They didn’t expect too big a reaction to this & as usual they failed to consider long-term consequences. But the reaction is real; it’s important to keep it up. I hope someone will wake up & make this right for the sake of those effected & for the sake of our political future.

Just the standard line from Corporate Democrats; it's ALWAYS somebody/something else's fault they can't get things done for working-class people: the "big tent", Parliamentarian, Filibuster, upcoming election, GOP, etc. Never a prob when military or Wall Street wants $ though 🤔

Our corporate owned Gov't is going to give your homes to their donors again and kick millions out into the streets, just like 2008. The Dems will lose in 2022 and 2024, then blame it on Putin and the Left, AGAIN.

The fake Progressives who got elected on "I'll upset the applecart to help you!" are giving us the same performance art & political theater as the people they replaced.

Note that they are vaccinated and there is medical care in case they still get it, they are willing to let the rest of us die until we reach a leveling off like the flu. Get the serfs filing the coffers, the oligarchs are going to be fine.

Pain is a commodity in America. Prison. War. Poverty. Disease. We’ve perfected the art of extracting wealth by causing suffering. Wall Street is set to swoop in a buy all those homes and become “America’s Landlord.” They will profit immensely from immense pain.

Not to mention that PUA ends in 5 weeks. They are letting that lapse as well. They need to reconvene, extend the moratorium, and then pass #MonthlySurvivalChecks so that states can't deny their constituents the assistance.

Biden blamed Pelosi blamed the Republicans. And now everyone is on vacation for 7 weeks.

We need people to run for sheriff across the country who would refuse to carry out evictions. Sheriffs have basically no oversight, and there are movements to install sovereign citizens in those positions. Why not people of conscience instead?
