Nowhere in America can someone working full-time at a minimum wage job afford a 2 BR apartment. If we had given everyone $2k/mo during the worst of the pandemic, the eviction crisis might not be the humanitarian disaster it is now. “Go get a job” is cruel advice.

Why would they need a two bedroom apartment in the first place?

But there are literally thousands of $8/hr jobs available which would never be enough to pay someone's rent. America in a nutshell.

Completely cruel.

This is true. From what I’ve learned, the states didn’t disburse rental assistance and evidently just kept the money.

I know a few people looking for jobs at places that say they are hiring and then never get calls back… so what is really going on?

Democrats wanted total lockdowns in blue states ad infinitum. Democrats voted against Trump who did everything in his power to strengthen the American economy for Americans. Democrats voted for Democrats who have done nothing. Now the evictions begin... ⚖️. #Karma

Someday you will admit that the Democratic Party is just as bad as the Republican Party. That’s when all those positive changes that you want will start to occur.

The resulting events brought on by the pandemic highlighted many fault lines in our culture of economic beliefs. Wages have not kept pace with worker output, the process of creating huge wealth inequalities have stripped households of needed savings.
