I honestly don’t know how they could do this. Congress leaving town without extending the eviction moratorium is such a “Let them eat cake” moment; I’m concerned it will go down in history in much the same way as the first time it was uttered.

The accelerationists were right. We can't vote our way out of this. Winning an election just earns us new excuses.

This is reality ... this is a moment of great pain ... and why so many lawmakers are turning their backs to this is beyond my comprehension.

That's exactly the dynamic that's playing out: the aristocracy vs the plebeian.
We now think that's them being nice to us.

At this point I am actually more concerned about how many people don’t seem to be concerned about it…

Well some of us are use to this. Sad but true.

after nearly 18 months of enhanced unemployment we now have a resurgence in hiring as the economy heats up. unless you are suggesting that the moratorium should never end, what data would indicate that it is time to discontinue the moratorium and resume payments?

Congress has given households with children a huge tax breaks per month. Plenty of employers ready to hire and 2 year college is free. It’s been almost 2 years. It’s time to let that BS go. Evict . That is not a let them eat cake moment. That’s get up and pay your rent.
