This is *very* simplistic thinking. Successful political endeavors include pragmatism, compromise and persuasion.

Yes - but not without spine. The status quo never disrupts itself, and thinking you can get it to do so by nicely standing in line and waiting your turn is very naive.

Political change, especially in our system, is a long game. Unless you want to force people who disagree with your POV to submit to your authority, you have to be willing to do the hard work of making incremental changes and convincing/influencing ple.
