If past progressives had put “pragmatism first” there would never have been abolition, women’s suffrage, unions, child labor laws or civil rights legislation. Putting pragmatism first creates a pattern of chronic failure under the guise of making a sophisticated effort to succeed

"Political Philosophy" only really kicks in when the situation is untenable. No shade being thrown, but a "revolution" of consciousness... still has to be made manifest. See you in the streets.

“Pragmatism” is just an excuse to avoid confronting the hard parts.

You think any of these things or the circumstances that created their reality were created in the moment. Generations my dear generations. You are a wierdo. 125 million for reparations…you’re not a serious person…sit the entire fvk down!

They stick the knife in, and now they're twisting it! I remember when we were told that it always seems impossible until it is done, and that ideas that we considered impossible are now part of the Overton window! When they say "no you can't" We say "yes we can"

I reject the entire framing of "pragmatism". It's not pragmatic to drill for more oil in the middle of a climate crisis any way you slice the word. What they mean is "lazy". They want to take the easy route at best, and are actively working against us at worst.
