These people have no idea the level of frustration and despair that’s out there, that they’re refusing to address with their neoliberal nonsense. Their consistent display of callousness is a losing strategy for 2022.

Pelosi also questioned the policy wisdom of cancelling student loan debt: “Suppose…your child just decided they, at this time, [do] not want to go to college but you’re paying taxes to forgive somebody else’s obligations. You may not be happy about that."

We need a wave of bold problem solvers in Congress. Remove all of the ineffectual cowards. Whether they be ambivalent, out-of-touch bureaucrats or straight up malicious evildoers. There should be no room on Capitol Hill for anyone except fiercely resolute public servants.

Wow that’s a straight Republican line @SpeakerPelosi

Yes, it is a losing strategy. But the people in charge of strategy will lose nothing. In fact, they will be rewarded for blocking change that might threaten the power and privilege of the rich. To understand the system, you must understand the incentives within the system.

They do have an idea, they just don’t care because they work for the wealthy, not for us. And they couldn’t care less about losing in 2022, they get paid either way. Just tell the people the truth already, there’s only one political party in this country and it serves the rich.

When your net worth is around 200 million, funding a college education for your kids isn't a very big deal. Nancy is criminally our of touch with working America.

I don't have kids but still pay for k-12. I don't feel "unhappy about it" @SpeakerPelosi relieve the people of financial ruin because they wanted to get an education! @POTUS

wow, Pelosi is out of touch, the college costs do not equal the salaries paid. She will bail out the banks and stock markets for their bad choice but to hell with the young of America

If they really want fair they should just adopt a #BasicIncome for all. If people want to pay down their debt with it they can. If they want to start a business or something else they can. Let the people decide for themselves what is best.

To discharge student debt across the board is wrong. Some are able to pay without struggle or sacrifice, because they got value out of their education and applied it effectively. Some did not, and some just took out debt to make life easy at the time (think Starbucks everyday).
