These people have no idea the level of frustration and despair that’s out there, that they’re refusing to address with their neoliberal nonsense. Their consistent display of callousness is a losing strategy for 2022.

It would be easy enough to tie debt forgiveness to service. This is already happening for docs in research making substantially less $ than they could in clinical practice. Forgive all student debt, tie it to a year of volunteer work in the USA. A win for them, win for America.

They won’t unless we populate the streets. You can’t just elect the farthest left candidate running (if you can, in fact, elect them at all!) you must mobilize as well. Too much faith in our system of representative democracy will only ever bring incrementalism.
