I have disagreements w/ Pelosi at times but the idea that she's "responsible for Jan. 6" is so totally and completely preposterous. There are people lying who recognize 100% that they're lying and yet continue to do so as a political strategy. We're headed for such dystopia here.

She isn’t responsible for it but she is responsible for failing to send a message by impeaching him the moment she became Speaker and failing to lead on prosecuting him for his role in Jan.

Isn't it worth asking what prompts Americans to make a statement - albeit a performative one - against their purported public servants? Is blame really all they've got to take away from this?

“Hearing anyone describe a traumatic & violent experience provoke emotions: even for police officers. That's what today is for. But the fixation on 1/6 is abt exactly this: classifying Trump supporters as Enemies of the State for political gain & Security State power.”@ggreenwald

So how come she didn't arrange for the Capitol to be defended? Wake up, Marianne, you always struck me as naive.
