You don’t have to be anti-capitalist to recognize that global capitalism has been weaponized, used too often as a tool by which to subjugate the poor. As many lives as it has lifted out of poverty it has thrown into despair.

Marianne, have you ever read the book ‘The Caliban and the Witch’ by Silvia Federici? I highly recommend it. I didn’t sufficiently understand our history as a species before I read it. akpress.org/catalog/product/…

Any critique of global capitalism must also include a critique of the intimate connect and dependency global capitalism has with nation states. Meaning the governmental leadership that legislates on the behalf of capitalism to provide the framework it needs to operate.

“global capitalism has been weaponized”? 🤣 You are clueless. Get a dictionary at least and look up ‘capitalism’. Hint: it’s an *economic* system. Yeah, I know, buckets of money & your easily impressed fans (embarrassing!) protect you from critical self-reflection & education.

Capitalism can't be weaponized because it is the weapon. However, it can be diluted to make it more palatable.

Monopolization, financialization, deregulation, detaxation, speculation, monopsony. That is modern day capitalism. Whatever positive it might have become - after WW2 - was gutted and abandoned decades ago.

If by "too often" you mean every single time it has ever been used, and by "as many lives" you mean "orders of magnitude more lives". It's true you don't have to be anti-capitalist to recognize these things- you could also be pro-subjugation!
