1/ In 1984 the Olympics were in Los Angeles and everybody acted like it was going to be awful and overcrowded and wanted to leave town. I don’t know why. I went to one of the events and it was something I’ll never forget. The energy was extraordinary.

We don’t not want the Olympics here bc of β€œovercrowding” we don’t want them here bc they will expand our already atrociously high police budget and harm our homeless community! Olympics = bad

I got so much out of that and out of the line about when someone tells you they are in love with you in the first five minutes you should see that as a blinking red light. I still can't believe I needed that to be pointed out.
