1/ In 1984 the Olympics were in Los Angeles and everybody acted like it was going to be awful and overcrowded and wanted to leave town. I don’t know why. I went to one of the events and it was something I’ll never forget. The energy was extraordinary.

2/ For those who read “A Return to Love,” that was when I got stood up by the guy who went to the opening ceremonies:) Never got so much mileage from a bad night. 😉

Few want to face what needs to be done to save the planet. Covid taught us how to clean the skies. Shut everything down but the essentials. Sports and entertainment must go on the backburner. Our jobs are killing the planet. Pay people to stay home/UBI. And redesign everything.

I was downtown for the opening, streets lined end to end. Topless European women on the beaches. I was a wide eyed 23 year old.

I lived in L.A. then. All the hotels were bragging about how much they were going to be gouging visitors, so the visitors stayed the hell away. It was one of the easiest times to get around L.A. the entire time I lived there.
