American exceptionalism is the idea that if they work hard enough anyone can make it in America. Bezos is someone who through monopolistic & anti-union behavior keeps many people from being able to make it here. Therefore he’s in no way a demonstration of Americans exceptionalism

What is American exceptionalism then? Genocide of the natives? Slavery of Africans? Invasions of poor middle eastern countries? Carpet bombing other middle eastern countries?

Now I know exactly what American exceptionalism is - Military and economic supremacy over the rest of the planet. American exceptionalism is a violent and deadly world order for the global south and east.
