I read an article in the New York Times today by an establishment pundit who says he has a problem with the child tax credit because it doesn’t. come. with. any. work. requirements.

C’mon now! I’m pretty sure they have a problem with helping anyone from the middle class down those is poverty. It’s not the work requirements, it’s doing the right thing that makes him the most uncomfortable. History backs me up on this.

Wait, my annual Child Tax Credit, that would be owed to me regardless and has functioned that way since I remember, now needs a work requirement because it's spread out over the year?? How do they think I make enough money to *earn* that credit??? Do these people even think?
