The problem is that those relatively rare people who actually reach towards the "deep truths" tend to be demonized (and killed) by the masses. Ahead of their time, they destroy illusions that the masses cling to. Socrates, Jesus, Giordano Bruno...Julian Assange...

Agreed, but the ratio can be even more extreme and often “deep truth” doesn’t even have to be “truth”.
By this logic 1 person telling deep truth can have more impact than a billion people telling shallow lies. 1 person can make a radical change on your perception of reality with “deep truths”. At the end of the day, it’s all simply about trust in information & its messengers.
