I think it’s appropriate if he actually serves the time, but not if he’s given probation.

8 months for trying to overthrow our government is a joke and will only encourage these people to try it again. Not just inappropriate but a threat to our national security.

He will be on probation for 2 years after the prison stint. He will have to behave perfectly or risk immediate return to prison.

If it weren't for much harsher sentences previously handed down for drug possession, voting when you weren't allowed to, etc... it would be easier to agree with you. It's difficult to see this as fair or as a deterrent to future attacks on our gov't.

He will do 4 months or less. Remember the first step act was for the fed. Cuts all sentences by 50%. Its a joke.
It will be served, followed by 2 yrs supervision
