I remember when we were kids my parents would tell us about Nazi Germany & we’d say “But it couldn’t happen here, right?” My mother would say “No sweetie, it couldn’t happen here.” My father wouldn’t say anything; he’d just look at her & then look down. I think he knew it could.

My mom used to get mad that my Dad would let us watch apocalypse movies like The Road Warrior. We'd ask her "but this can't happen, it's just a movie, right Mom?" Dad would always go silent, Mom wouldn't answer. I don't wonder why anymore.

I am aware of 1 Holocaust survivor at the synagogue I went to growing up, where I had my Bar Mitzvah. There may have been several but I was made aware of 1. At one point I taught her grandson in a Sunday school class I co-taught briefly. The Nazis did reproductive experiments…

I don’t know what happened to my relatives who stayed in Eastern Europe. I think all of my direct ancestors came over in the late 1800s

Where do you think it's coming from? If you think it's a left-right Democrat-Republican thing, which side are you most worried about?

Again with the Nazi Gernmany comparison. Don’t you get tired of this? Isn’t it curious that your ‘side’ seems to be the one most in line with your comparison at this time?

Parallels between the nascent Nazi party, and today’s America First movement are too obvious to ignore. Not only can it happen here, it will happen here if we don’t vigorously and consistently stand against them.
