I prefer not to be infantilized and think of political parties as my Mom and Dad. It's archery that they're more akin to Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan, in that no matter who loses, the only real winner is Vince McMahon.

I'd be angry at both parents. The whipping and beating shouldn't happen in the first place. It shouldn't take a beating by dad for mom to show love and affection. I'd get the hell out of that house as soon as I could.

I'm a mom. If I watched someone abuse my child I would face criminal charges and lose the privilege of raising my child. Furthermore, if my mom sat by and watched someone abuse me I would hate her passionately. Far more than I would hate the abuser.
