Our greatest natural resource is the brain of a child before the age of five. The most powerful thing we could do to turn America around over the next 20 years would be to massively front end our resources in the direction of prenatal and early childhood wellbeing and education.

As a society we probably aren't ready to start giving children what they need because they are human. So what will need to be decided is whether children are a public good held in trust or private property.

Schools were built to make workers and obiduent cogs in the industrial machine. Children are not “resources” but the purest unsocialized of us beings, with absolutely curiousity that only they should fill in their play & not by any indoctrination.

Factually sound but think window for that closed with the 20th century. Majority minority population among toddlers. White boomers and now milennial yuppies too are leaving for low tax low crime districts, especially if have kids. Who pays for early childhood ed?

So why is the US gov supporting israeli actions against Palestinian children? A: israeli need to make more terrorists so to support their victimhood claims for getting US taxpayer funds. I do not approve of my taxes being used this way.

No one wants to hear this but that is why mothers ideally need to not work until kindergarten. I know it isnt easy in the modern world but it is far more important to the good of society than almost any career.
