Thinking other planets are key to an utopian reality is just humanity doing a "geographic:" wherever you go you take yourself with you. Right now we'd mess up other planets as much as we've messed up this one. I hope for their sake we can't settle there til we're more enlightened

It's not utopia to go to other planets, it's survival. One stray asteroid and humanity is done The planet is perfectly fine with or without us, it's just the habitability that's in question, other planets are completely inhospitable so anything we do would be an improvement
