Thinking other planets are key to an utopian reality is just humanity doing a "geographic:" wherever you go you take yourself with you. Right now we'd mess up other planets as much as we've messed up this one. I hope for their sake we can't settle there til we're more enlightened

I've always thought that space travel was kinda retarded. I know that word is now evil but I think it's appropriate in this case. All resources to support people in space and beyond has to first be taken from earth. So far we know of no self-sustaining environments beyond earth.

Helium-3 is a rare isotope on Earth, but it is abundant on the Moon. Helium-3 could produce nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion makes use of the same energy source that fuels the Sun and other stars and does not produce radioactivity and nuclear waste.
