good luck with that. as long as money from private donors and corporations is allowed, elected officials can be considered bought and paid for by those sources. I've been converted to the vision that elections must be government funded.

You should not blame the government for the capitalist overreach, blame the capitalist and capitalism that allowed them to buy those politicians. The solutions is not to reverse the trend, but to replace the system that allowed that trend to take place. Socialism is the answer.
