Important thread. A permanent underclass was created; it was the inevitable consequence of a system that took care of monied forces as the expense of everyone else. Tens of millions of lives have been collateral damage, the victims of what amounts to systemic economic oppression.
A report from the @NLIHC released Wednesday highlights how hard, if not impossible, living in San Francisco has become for those not bringing in three figure salaries. sfgate.com/local/article/san…

Not inherently. That’s like saying the problem was traffic, when the real problem was a lack of traffic lights and traffic laws.

Wrong, as usual. The permanent underclass was created by LBJ's Great Society welfare programs. There were more intact black families before the GS. Do a search on "single parent households and crime," and see the social dysfunction liberals have caused.

And not just SF, we look across an economy and society that is designed for the benefit of the rich at the misery of the rest of us. And the immiserated us keeps expanding.

This is unbelievable ... a six figure income ... just to survive in San Francisco.

The political parties were trusted to watch the hen house. They have failed miserably as it was never their intent to keep the foxes away. They are not designed to protect the hens. Instead they infuse fear and mistrust of everything but the lone source, themselves.

Basically capitalism. Typically we offshore those we use as an underclass to support the lifestyles in the west. Now that imperialism is coming home to roost and doing the same thing within our borders.
