The last Gilded Age was followed by a Progressive Era and this one will be too. People will only take so much. America has self-corrected in the past and we’re going to self-correct again.

That era had a lot less polarization then today. Modern Americans are brainwashed to blame their neighbor rather then the elite.

I hope you are right... Sadly, I think the road to a new civil war is already well on its way to paved... I don't know what the future Divided States of America will look like, but it will be ugly for Great Plains States.

Unfortunately there also had to be a massive economic collapse after the first gilded age in order to usher in the progressive era... hopefully we can avoid all of that pain and suffering,

Time is not a circle, it's more of a fractal. Meaning history doesn't repeat itself, rather patterns in history reemerge within new contexts creating a degree of self similarity. Our damage to biospheres is an absolute game changer this go around.
