"Our civilization" -> Its not our civilization that is suffering this ailment. Its the Angloamerican West, and the countries to which they pushed this religion to. Many countries, from China to New Zealand, prioritized their people over the stock market during the pandemic.

That's why the United States should join the Belt and Road Initiative instead of fighting a New Cold War against it.
