The issue isn’t just how parts of the government both Dem & GOP attack the press; the issue is also how certain parts of the mainstream press conspire in erasing the most important conversations. Why aren’t the @nytimes, @CNN & @MSNBC discussing #JulianAssange & #StevenDonziger?

Why do you think? MSM isn’t the “press”. They are corporate entities whose purpose is to agendas and narratives that favor their corporations.
Corporate-state run media censors most impt stories, doing very best to manufacture consent for, and distract us from, the insane atrocities happening before our very eyes. Meanwhile our culture has normalized such traits as self-aggrandizement, the capacity for manipulation.. 1/

The NYT reported about Donzinger the last time in 2013, about Assange the last time in February, 2021. There are four articles between January & February 2021 about Assange in the NYT. There is one substantive article about Assange on the CNN site published on Jan 15th., 2021.
Answer: 90% of ALL media is owned by 6 corporations. Their only core principles are to 1) preserve the status quo that serves them so well and 2) make profits for shareholders. The opposite of the goals of #JulianAssange & #StevenDonziger

Attacks on the press are an act to give the illusion of argument and separation. Corporate media and corporate government are playing the game hand in hand.
The press can't be beyond reproach. They must be held to account. Including when they fail to cover certain events and aspects. Otherwise attacks on the press end up seeming to have merit.
We all know why, because both challenged power (Military Industrial Complex & Fossil Fuel Industry)
