And, its not only Sweden where a sense of social cohesion permits such benefits....very similar benefits here in Belgium, particularly with regard to healthcare.

However in Sweden if you make over 523,200 kroner (about $60,000 USD) you pay 52% income tax. Also, the VAT on goods/services other than medicine and food is 25%. It's a pay me now or pay me later situation.

Meanwhile Americans go to Mexico for dental, medical, eyeglasses, prescriptions. It's cheaper to fly to another country to have surgery there than to go bankrupt here in the US.
