IMO, there should be a wealth tax to place limits on dynastic oligarchies as well as to ensure some level of "fairness" wrt benefits reaped from society & burden shouldered in maintaining and advancing it. (Determining what that tax should be is above my pay grade...)

There is absolutely no obstacle for this billionaire to pay to the feds whatever amount of money he/she believes is the fair amount. But he/she doesn't get to decide what other billionaires should pay.

From 50 million to 999 million no increase in the tax rate. How about 1 percent every 10 million maxed out at 20 percent.

Don't worry there is a wealth tax in NYC, more regressive than a poll tax, on middle class property owners who pay for annual UBI for multi-million $ Brownstoners in Bklyn, among them the mayor, most of the candidates to replace him and media types.

How about this: since raising taxes just gives Republicans a bigger bat to hit with, we work to elect courageous leaders who force them to pay their fair share by closing all loop holes & enforcing the tax laws. Steal their thunder & stop the steal.
