I agree with your point except that Olympic Athletes should not show contempt or disrespect for their country on the world stage. Using your freedom of speech to implore your country to do better is taking the high road. It would be a much better world IMO

Athletic competition at the Olympics is a representation of each country. She is suppose to represent America, represent me, represent all of us, not just herself. If she chooses to not represent our country, which is her right, she should not compete in this venue.

I agree with your premise but it is perfectly reasonable to label the athlete here as unpatriotic. That’s simply a statement of fact. You can say that her level of patriotism shouldn’t be a consideration for her eligibility, but her lack of patriotism’s the point of her protest

Openly expressing disdain for the anthem IS not patriotism & should be called out when Olympic athletes do it.
