You can have respect for the US military and still have contempt for the profit-making goals of Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Boeing. It is they who misuse and exploit the military for their own purposes, promoting and fostering a permanent war machine.

The US military doesn't protect from war, us they instigate war! What's to respect?

You don’t have to respect the US military.

I respect the people who signed up for wars they don't believe in, because it was the only way to get healthcare, an education, a decent paying job, etc. Military service is a path out of poverty, and that's part of the scam.

I don't understand this idea that we are required to respect any branch of our government. Respecting soldiers is the least we can do, although they deserve so much more, but the military as an institution has done more harm to all of us than good for the world.

Don’t forget to squeeze in a big “?” Around the fact that the US military is the #1 polluter on planet Earth 🔥🌎🔥

Idk if I respect an organization that poatches children from high school that know nothing about how the world actually works for the promise of a college education. And at what cost? Ruining their bodies, PTSD, and to be left at the curb when they're discharged. Nah. Not for me.

That is just cynical. Government contractors like all publically traded companies exist to provide value to shareholders. The executive branch of government is ultimately responsible for managing the military and deploying it.

The military is a vital tool of government. How it is used is ultimately the responsibility of the American people through the representatives they elect to Congress and the Presidency.

Why does the US military, as an institution, deserve respect? 🤔

I think the phrasing/framing of this is exceptionally complicated. Of course, we love individual people. But we can't love their participation in a violent project, the institution. (Is this my "love the sinner, hate the sin"?!!??! Throwing it back at 'em now, finally! mwhaha)
