The USA are stupid

Every sport has rules and athletes must follow those rules. The athlete's must follow those rules or facing consequences. As long as those consequences are consistently applied to all athletes, it should not be a problem which is the case in this situation.

I just discovered that this is all about Sha'Carri Richardson testing positive for marijuana ... a substance that is legal in her home state!

Actions have consequences and elite athletes know the rules and what will happen if they are broken.

It's a stupid rule but it's a rule. Everybody else had to abide by that policy. If you feel that you have to take in THC, regardless of the consequences, you might have bigger problems than not being allowed to compete in the Olympics.
