With SCOTUS striking down last remaining vestiges of Voting Rights Act, a major pillar of our democracy has fallen away. This means Congress just became that much more important as a counterbalance. As exhausting as it is we need to start preparing ourselves now for the midterms.

@JoeBiden can ask Congress to up the number of justices to balance the court. But Congress is as impotent as he is. 😒

Dems aren’t going to do anything. Too scared, corrupt, complicit.

Except it doesn't matter who is elected to Congress. There will always be traitors who prevent any meaningful legislation from passing

...and Democrats' solution to execrable GOP racist voter suppression is to push bills that make it impossible for 3rd Parties or Independents to get on the ballot. HR1 disenfranchises voters not interested in either corporate party; it helps only the Dems and the GOP.

I have my plan chiseled in stone after force the vote went nowhere with officials. I live for the midterms. My plan is scorched earth: stay a Dem so that I can primary incumbents and vote 3rd party during the election. Tell every fundraiser i will never vote

Nah Congress is too busy on the golf course.
As SCOTUS ends term, I asked @WhipClyburn if he hopes Breyer retires. He said no, noting their similar ages. "Who am I to tell somebody to retire?...I feel fine. I'm still able to play 18 holes in the morning, 18 holes in the afternoon and have a little libations for lunch."

People need to resolve to vote every opportunity they have before they can't or it doesn't matter. Turnout must be the mission. All hands on deck to vote out the cancer. With that goes suspending the disagreements and petty debates we indulge in, while they're used to divide US.

I read how in Brazil, the senate is investigating the Bolsonaro regime and the covid mismanagement, how the French conseil d'état intervenes to stop our interior minister and his sinister policing tactics... Counterpowers are so important. We must cherish them, reinforce them.
