I’m trying to figure out how Britney Spears only has a court-appointed lawyer. All the people making millions off her and no one hires her someone in Century City? The days of basically imprisoning a woman because she’s “crazy” are supposed over. #FreeBritney

Her sister or someone outside of the conservator-ship circle could have hired a lawyer. I am surprised that an attorney wouldn't have taken the case for the attention and potential pay off if she won. The whole case seems weird. Is Britney 39 now?

The conservatorship laws need to be changed otherwise you'll have more and more situations similar to what happened in the movie I Care A Lot.

I would be surprised if her dad would pay an attorney to sue him on her behalf, even if it is Britney's money. I would think an attorney would step in and go on a contingency fee basis. If he wins for her, he gets paid.

The conservatee isn’t judged competent to choose someone to act in their best interest. The Court appts an atty for that purpose. The atty is paid for by the estate of the conservatee (Britney).

it gets worse, her money is funding her opposition of course

She tried to hire her own lawyer but he was thrown out of the court and our good pal Ingham was appointed. Just one of many violations of her civil rights.

It's crazy, right. I tend not to weigh in on celebrity legal issues, but this is a violation of her human rights at this point and her father should be ashamed of himself. #FreeBritney

🤔 It's almost like that is not what is in her best interests. 🤔

Yeah, reminds me of the madwoman in the attic trope from the 19th century. Treating a woman like she's insane if she speaks her mind.
