The difference is that pushers have bought off most of our politicians, who have made it more difficult for us to access water (renewable energy). So individual "recovery" isn't enough. We need societal change and recovery from greed, the root problem.

But politics is money. Money and power is all that politicians care about. Sure they talk tough on the campaign trail because that is how they get money and power. Politicians on the whole do not care about you, the country, or the planet.
