Once an alcoholic admits the exact nature of their problem they can’t just start drinking less; they have to stop drinking. Our addiction to fossil fuels is no different and no less deadly.

Drinking a liter of vodka when you wake up is definitely the same as driving to work or transporting goods across the country. Good take Karen.

Yeah, we should just abandon modern life cold turkey. Have you heard of our savior Ted Kaczynski?

I hope you live in the bush and walk to work. Would offer you a tent and bicycle, but pretty sure they are also made from petroleum.

Oil is the engine of our progress, longevity, and quality of life. There's enough there for at least 200 years. Ev cars will leave you stranded for HOURS in a snowstorm and KILL YOU. Sure, keep innovating, inventing, and improving. DO NOT ALLOW government to FORCE adoption.

There is no proven genetic predisposition either. I’m not saying there isn’t one, but there is no proof that there is. And there are plenty of addicts to whom it wouldn’t apply anyway. The analogy is fine.
