Once an alcoholic admits the exact nature of their problem they can’t just start drinking less; they have to stop drinking. Our addiction to fossil fuels is no different and no less deadly.

The difference is that pushers have bought off most of our politicians, who have made it more difficult for us to access water (renewable energy). So individual "recovery" isn't enough. We need societal change and recovery from greed, the root problem.

Which means we have to get the money out of politics.

Luv, it's not "fossil fuels" to which we are "addicted". It's air conditioning, transportation, refrigeration, food etc. If you find a way to get those things w/out fossil fuels all will be happy. Trust me.

#Hi #ImMrMeseeks #LookAtMe But alcoholics actually experience negative effects from drinking. The only effect fossil fuels have on us is allowing us have nice things and travel at high rates of speed

Would you still object to fossil fuels if you were convinced they do not contribute to global warming? Do you oppose nuclear energy?

It’s not that you stop drinking altogether, Marianne. You alter your drink of choice is all.

I was thinking about this while I was washing my jeep in the driveway with dishwashing liquid and drying it with crushed styrofoam cups while I watched the suds float down the street drains. I think the most dangerous addiction today in America is to political hacks like you.

The profit motive is going to kill us all... yes, even the wealthy.

Quitting fossil fuels cold turkey would cause catastrophic damage to the entire world, we have nowhere near the alternatives in place to meet even basic critical services and opposition to nuclear power means that will continue to be the case.
