Climate change now at a place where we’re no longer talking prevention, just accommodation and adaptation. People speak about that casually as though it’s not an unsurvivable option for hundreds of millions of people. It’s like we’re sitting 6 inches from a cliff having a picnic.

Actually, we're having a parade, skipping toward the cliff. What we do now will determine how many will die--tens of millions or hundreds of millions. I know it's hard for people to fathom such numbers, but that's what we're talking about, and we must turn the parade around.
