What people are experiencing in the Pacific Northwest now is not just a heatwave; it’s a new normal that’s been foretold by climate scientists for quite a while. It will bring with it other disasters also foretold. Neither major political party has been willing to forestall it.

The heat #FossilFuels have added to our planet has destroyed our once reliable climate. It is irreversible & it's only the beginning. We are witnessing earth transforming so dramatically, so fiercely, it will be decades before she calms down to something we can call 'normal'🌎

Not even close, it is, according to climate scientists absolutely a "heat wave" and not a shifting of normal weather. At most, climate change is responsible for 4 or 5 degrees increase in this rare occurrence.

Ms. Williamson: we've spent $trillions! Check the stats for particulate matter in the air from the '70's until now. Superfund site cleanups. Cleaner lakes, rivers and streams. C'mon, give your country some credit.

It's not the new normal. It's a temporary normal. A very temporary normal. We've already baked it in. Climate will worsen for many years before our stabilizing enough to say 'New Normal.' That's assuming radical #ClimateActionNow & a rapid transition off #FossilFuels.
