Wages are one part of it. So is scheduling (especially erratic schedules over which one has no say, thus hard to plan in life), working conditions, respect & dignity; & questioning is this work a benefit to society, a positive (or at least neutral) contribution.

Too bad capitalism does not encourage this, in fact it encourages the theft of wages from the employees.

I can't read the article because I don't subscribe to the Washington Post ... but it sounds to me like economics 101 ... Supply and Demand! ... If you want good employees ... pay them well!

So you are admitting that the government is artificially causing the labor shortage. These businesses can afford to pay $15 temporarily. But force this on businesses that cannot, and you are playing into the hands of corporations that want to eliminate competition

Groovy how Bernie’s push for $15 burrowed in the minds of Americans and is having a bigger impact quicker than any Federal law could! Bravo!

That doesn’t make sense. People only work for the sense of family and to stay outta trouble. Money has nothing to do with it 😆

Good luck keeping your business open , paying insurance and employees .. here comes $8 happy meals ... $15 is a nice thought , but it makes small businesses go belly up ..
