I am sorry he got treated badly at Evergreen College, but Weinstein is not brilliant, interesting or particularly worth listening to.

Not the point though! Freedom of speech should be inviolable.

maybe don't worry about the people that can triangulate with rolling stone and the new york times. we've got kids in cages we've got regular boring lack of due process taking peoples lives, people getting shot at traffic stops because cops can kill people without consequence

not being taken seriously is not the same as being censored. He has a successful podcast, youtube, and friends on TV, he has greater reach than many of us could hope for, and he uses this privelege to push conspiracies and snake oil. His cries of censorship are just entitlement

I don't remember you defending Trump when social media platforms started "censoring" him by taking down his posts with dangerous COVID misinformation.
this merely promotes further denigration of the value of ideas so everyone's dumb (or evil) thought is absolutely equal, truth becomes entirely subjective, and it's up for every individual to "judge" (based on who flatters their prejudices and grabs their eyeballs the most)

Not remotely true, and you know it.
But Freedom of speech isn't absolute. Bret is spreading COVID-19 misinformation which can literally harm lives during a Pandemic. It's not just his usual persecution complex.

Tolerance requires intolerance of intolerance.
