I am sorry he got treated badly at Evergreen College, but Weinstein is not brilliant, interesting or particularly worth listening to.

Not the point though! Freedom of speech should be inviolable.

You don’t actually believe that do you? Should libel and slander be legal for example?

I’ve been slandered terribly. Are you under the impression I had a legal opportunity to stop it? I did not.

He’s LYING about the vaccine. He’s been a guest on Joe Rogan and gets plenty of media attention, why don’t you see through this bullshit?

I got vaccinated, but how do you know he’s lying?

Doesn't freedom of speech refer more to government restrictions on speech? If we disagree with what YouTube or the university or other media orgs are restricting, isn't that actually calling on the government to intervene in what private actors are deciding to limit?

He can go out on the street corner and say whatever he wants. Thing is, in that environment, anyone could respond in real time. So he'd never do that.

He is for freedom of speech and at the same time he is for banning CRT.

You don't seem to comprehend the distinction between "freedom of speech" which is *freedom from persecution of the state* & a private entity choosing to deplatform a person. It's a big difference.

There is this very insular segment on the left. Always the same ppl being interviewed & the same topics. If the liberal media & censorhship is all you gonna discuss, you going to get things seriously wrong & miss a lot of interesting ppl & topics.

I mean he's not being censored though, he got two youtube strikes for spreading medical misinformation - he can still post videos as long as he doesn't get a third strike. I agree censorship by big tech is a problem but there are much better examples to worry about.
