An old world is angrily disintegrating. We can call it late stage capitalism or whatever, but it’s any political or economic system guided more by short term profit than by the needs of people and planet. The status quo is threatened by nothing so much as by radical compassion.

Definitely I can! Money in politics. Deregulation. The Koch brothers. Dark money. Those things would corrupt whatever economic system we established. But I understand what you're saying; the overfinancialization of the world is definitely the core problem on a political level.
