Bobby Kennedy was killed on this day in 1968. It’s impossible to describe the collective agony and grief people felt. First JFK in ‘63, then Martin in April ‘68, then Bobby in June. There wasn’t the expression PTSD yet but the country has been in it ever since. Only now emerging.

In world war II, they called it ... "shell shocked" ... and I think that term still applies ...

And then in 1969 Teddy drowned a woman in his car in Chappaquiddick. Most cursed family in American history.

Marianne, you might want to start paying attention to what his son, RFK Jr. has to say. However, that could be political suicide as he is now branded as a conspiracy theorist. Do you find that odd ?

I remember that day, I was in junior high school. It broke my heart 💔

I remember this day very clearly. The first death was like an exploding bomb. The second like the fire after the detonation. This one felt like what happens after the building has been hit, blows up in flames, then collapses on itself. A lot of trauma behavior followed.

It’s so hard to grasp how the loss of one man’s commitment to change disfigured the dreams of what could’ve been. Bobby’s death shut a chapter on a era of hope & reconciliation of which we have yet to see again. JFK, Martin, Malcolm, & the voice of Baldwin are only reminders now.

What does that say about where we've allowed society to go since then, just 4 years before I was born? My entire life has seen this society maintain this savagery and watch people play nice with those causing the trouble. We aren't reforming. We're getting worse.
