My tweet is provocative but it's a worthwhile discussion. Consideration for the means to ends is much more important than many seem to display lately.

No one said anything about regulating love or about what it should look like. Two parents can both love their children but disagree on how they should treat a particular situation. Still, their common love for the child makes all the difference.

The question re regulating love came to mind watching the Dem primaries. Extreme? Yes. But a useful question. Sometimes top-down processes are necessary to afford others the opportunity to flourish. The method just tends toward overutilization.
It's a tough question to wade through: for a given dilemma, is it better to emphasize top-down solutions or bottom-up solutions? I tend towards the latter but there's no universal answer. scienceofhumanpotential.com/
