The problem with the current attention given to mental health issues is that it misses the point. A society whose bottom line is competition for wealth is inherently unhealthy, and its citizens will inevitably reflect the brokenness of spirit that derives from such a lack of love

You post as if at one point in life everything was balanced and fair. Explain to your blue check following when there was a period globally this was a reality. You simply cannot. Life isn't fair, never has been and never will be. Stop pursuing the absolute unattainable. Grow.

Nothing to do with the influence of reality television or social media?

This is correct. And yet it's the paradigm most people are stuck in. Education is mostly (not completely, but mostly) a funnel to the corporate workplace. It's not like kids are primarily being taught to start communes, share, and reject material acquisitions.

I call it the Disneyland problem. The way nationalist rhetoric paints the US as "the greatest place on Earth" is eerily similar to how Walt Disney envisioned Disneyland with the same focus on facade covering over a gruesome system (we're told to ignore) used to create said facade

This is a nice general statement, but it's it's not a utilitarian approach. The main problem with MH is that for people with serious mental illness it is inadequately funded. The public also have poor literacy about SMI. So all discussion is around trauma and anxiety.

What type of alternative society are you proposing? From what I can see, every specie on the planet competes for resources; including all the plants. I'm all for a better world, but I don't see an obvious solution that doesn't strip away all liberty.

I sincerely respect the fact that, unlike our politicians, you believe in what your saying.

Mental Heath issues are the result of a spiritual deficit. And the spiritual deficit comes from having replaced anything Divine with Money/Power/Control.

i feel like this sentiment has been cheapened to the point of sounding almost corny to people who read it but your message is truly profound and important
