The problem with the current attention given to mental health issues is that it misses the point. A society whose bottom line is competition for wealth is inherently unhealthy, and its citizens will inevitably reflect the brokenness of spirit that derives from such a lack of love

It is an established fact that a proportion of all societies will be mentally ill and a proportion will be brilliant and productive; and they tend to offset one another. With that in mind, it is the obligation of a healthy society to care for the mentally ill.

You put it gently. I would say that it's evil.

I grew up in a relatively poor family ... and I always looked up to wealthy people ... I thought they were somehow superior to everyone else ... It took decades for me to outgrow that ... The element we are searching for that will bring us happiness ... won't be found in wealth!

Lots of people are searching ... some find substitutes ... and some just give up looking ... but a few ... actually find the Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow!

What’s the alternative? Communism? Authoritarianism?

You mean the ones getting wealthier right because I know I'm not broken because I know I love. Regardless of my poorness.

With all due respect: we are forced to compete for wealth because we have bills and rents that are due . Not all of us have the Guru spirit to understand the power of love, when you live paycheck to paycheck !

When people are taught how to live like slaves in free society, they develop a shallow narrative that explains everything.
