If the resources of America belong to the American people, what if ~ 20 million people from Mexico show up, maybe even illegally. Do they get a slice of the pie, too? they're not America's people, right—or are they?
I know where I stand on this, but I'd like to hear your view.
If the resources of a country belong to its people, it implies:
(1) A country has a people,
(2) There are “others” not of the country, and
(3) The “others” are entitled to less.
All contradict basic principles of the modern Left and are much more in line with the Right.
